I always tell my brides not to hold back their emotions on their wedding day! I understand that you might be concerned that you’ll ruin your makeup (you won’t), but those moments where you are 100% in the moment will be those images you cherish the most. I love that Katie and Devin were completely present in all of the moments of their wedding day this past Saturday! It all started, when Devin included the sweetest note with his gift to Katie that morning. Katie took a few moments to quietly sit down and read the letter that Devin wrote. After Katie finished reading the note, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room! It was the sweetest way to start the day.

Katie’s mom helped her step into her dress that morning! Katie and her mom have such a close bond, and I can only imagine how much that moment meant for both of them! Katie wore a fit and flare beaded wedding dress with a lace cathedral veil. Katie was breathtaking!! The bridal portraits we captured that morning are some of my forever favorites.

Devin and Katie decided to do a first look at the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club, and the moment that Devin turned around and saw Katie he was overtaken with emotion! It was one of my favorite moments of the day. From there, Katie, Devin and their bridal party walked around the grounds of the yacht club for portraits before the ceremony! We lucked out with a breezy partly cloudy day by the water…we couldn’t have asked for anything better.

What I love about Katie and Devin is how close these two are to their families! It was so evident on their wedding day, that their family and friends mean so much to them. From Katie’s first look with her dad (bring on the tissues!) to Devin’s brother speech, it was all so meaningful! These two are such genuine and down to earth, and not to mention a joy to be around. Their wedding day represented them so perfectly!

Katie and Devin, I cannot wait for you to see these images! I can’t thank you two enough for inviting me into one of the most important days of your lives. I’ve had the best time getting to know you both over the past several months! I hope you two enjoy some of my favorite images.
