Alex and Michael’s Downtown Detroit wedding was my very last wedding of 2016! Truthfully, I couldn’t have asked for a better way to end my 2016 season and spend my last day of 2016. This New Years Eve wedding was absolutely breathtaking in every single way. The Garden Theater in Midtown was the perfect location for the event, too! Alex and Michael both got ready at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center. The hotel rooms have the best view of the city, which was perfect for getting ready pictures. Alex wore a gorgeous layered ball gown with a stunning long veil! She looked like a dream! These two actually decided to do a first look, so we were able to travel around Downtown Detroit for pictures before the ceremony. Alex and Michael decided on the Detroit Public Library for their first look. I just loved their first look. It was such an emotional and intimate time for just the two of them. The pictures from their first look are some of my favorites! Speaking of favorites, I’m pretty sure I have hundreds of favorites from their wedding, and narrowing it down for this blog post was the hardest part. Alex chose the prettiest gold and ivory bridesmaid dresses for her girls. It complimented her dress so perfectly! After our little adventure around Detroit, we headed to the Garden Theater for the ceremony and reception.

New Years Eve weddings have easily become some of my favorites! The whole entire wedding day was so much fun, and I couldn’t have imagined a better way to start the new year then photographing a wedding. Plus, who doesn’t love capturing pictures with lots of confetti! The pictures of Alex and Michael kissing right at midnight are so fun, and I can’t wait until you guys see those. Truthfully, Alex and Michael made my job so easy and it was such a joy working with them both. Alex is by far one of the happiest and sweetest brides I’ve worked with. The moment I met with them in a coffee shop, I knew that working with them would be such an awesome experience! You guys, I promise you cannot take a bad picture of them. They are one heck of an adorable couple. Seriously, a photographers dream!

Alex and Michael, thank you, thank you, thank you for entrusting me to capture this exciting time in both of your lives. I’m so grateful that I had the opportunity to capture your wedding day. You two are so perfect for each other, and documenting your love was humbling. With Love, Niki.
