I know you guys will love Dana and Mike’s Downtown Grand Rapids wedding! I bet you will never believe that their wedding was shot in February. For the past year, Dana and I joked back and forth that there would be a snowstorm on her wedding day. Instead of a snowstorm, we got a thunderstorm! Crazy Michigan weather. It rained the whole entire day, but Dana and Mike didn’t even give that a second thought! During the morning, one of Dana’s family members said that there was no need to worry about the sunshine because they all had sunshine in their hearts. I love that and it definitely is an accurate description of the whole entire wedding day! When it was time for bride and groom portraits the rained actually stopped for over 15 minutes. How blessed were we?! We were able to take so many gorgeous pictures during that timeframe. I do have to admit that some of my favorite images of Dana and Mike are with the umbrella! So romantic.
Dana and Mike live in Chicago, and since we got snowed out of our engagement session, I didn’t actually met them until their wedding day! As soon as I walked into the bridal suite that morning, Dana gave me a big hug and we chatted about life and I felt like I was catching up with a long lost friend. I love that about Dana! She’s so welcoming and she has the biggest heart. Her and Mike are absolutely adorable together, which is so completely obvious in their pictures! There really isn’t anything better than photographing a couple that is SO in love with each other. You can’t recreate that!
Dana and Mike, thank you so much for entrusting me to capture your wedding day. I loved every single minute of it, and I’m secretly a little sad that it’s over because I don’t have an excuse to hang out with you guys! But, I’m so happy for you both!
