Katie and Matt are the type of people who always put others first… even on their own wedding day! They’re so selfless, kind and authentic. Basically they are the real deal! Katie exudes happiness and she has this God given talent to make everyone around her feel like her best friend. These two together are one heck of an amazing couple, and I can’t believe that I had the privilege to capture their first day as husband and wife this past Saturday at the Colony Club in Downtown Detroit!!

The whole entire day was simply so classic and elegant! From the venue to Katie’s gorgeous dress… it was all so beautiful. But more importantly, the moments that these two shared with each other and their family and friends were the absolute best. Matt’s reaction when he saw Katie walk down that aisle will move you to tears!

After the ceremony, we headed outside for portraits and about halfway through it started rain! What I love about Katie and Matt is that they trusted me, and so we grabbed an umbrella and we kept on shooting through the rain. Those images are some of my favorites from the day! To make it even better, we stepped out for sunset portraits later on and there was a rainbow and the prettiest pink sunset. We couldn’t have asked for anything better!

Katie is the quintessential Niki Marie Bride! She values her family, she has this timeless grace about her, she sees the bigger picture on her wedding day and doesn’t stress over the small details, when it rains during portraits she grabs an umbrella!

To the newlyweds, where to even begin? Photographing and being apart of your wedding day was a complete joy. I can’t thank you both enough for being so trusting! Working with you and your family and friends was the best. I cannot even wait for you to see these images! I hope you cherish these for decades to come.
