This past month has been one of the busiest this year! I spent this month photographing seven amazing weddings with the absolute best couples, and I couldn’t image spending my summer any other way. To end this months weddings was Megan and Mike’s wedding in Detroit! I’m warning you all now, it was one pretty day!!
It was around this time last year, that I met up with Megan and Mike at the coffee shop in Downtown Detroit! They hadn’t set a wedding date yet, but they wanted to talk about what dates I had available. It’s always SO humbling when a couple books their wedding date around my schedule! It’s such an honor, and I don’t deserve my couples!
Megan and Mike’s wedding started off rainy, but as soon as it was time for their first look at the Detroit Institute of Arts the rain stopped! We even had a perfect breeze that made for some gorgeous veil shots. One of my favorite moments and photos from their wedding day was right after their ceremony! Megan and I planned a few weeks leading up to her wedding a big group shot right outside the cathedral with their guests. It was no easy task wrangling hundreds of guests, but with the help of the bridal party we made it happen! And I’m so glad we did. That shot was totally worth standing in the middle of Woodward Avenue, and I just know it will be a photo Megan and Mike will cherish for generations!
On a wedding day, the timeline will inevitably run behind and things happen! What I love about Megan is that she never seemed too caught up in that. She handled everything with so much grace, and enjoyed her wedding day! Her and Mike were such a dream couple to work with. They were so trusting in my vision, and especially with the portraits in the middle of the street in Downtown Detroit! Not only was their wedding obviously GORGEOUS, but it was SO much fun to be apart of.
Megan and Mike, thank you from the very bottom of my heart for choosing me to capture your wedding day! It was all was so amazing. I can’t wait for you to see this blog post and the final gallery soon!!
